Twitter to test ‘vanishing tweets’ feature

The social networking giant has announced that it is going to roll out a new feature known as fleets.
According to details, Twitter is testing a new feature that will allow some of its tweets to disappear after 24 hours.
The new feature will be quite similar to vanishing posts on Instagram and Snapchat stories.
Soon after Twitter announced its new feature and its specifications, users started trend #RIPTwitter on the social networking site and complained that the new feature would make the micro-blogging site too similar to other social media platforms.
So far the social media company has announced that it is going to test the new function in Brazil only.
According to company’s product lead, Kayvon Beykpour, the new feature would let people post thoughts they might have felt uncomfortable sharing publicly.
"We're hoping that Fleets can help people share the fleeting thoughts that they would have been unlikely to Tweet," he wrote in a seven-part post on Twitter.
Just like Insta and Snapchat stories, the disappearing messages will appear when a user's profile picture is clicked. Users will not be able to reply, like, or comment on any of the vanishing messages.
