The second anniversary of renowned social activist and lawyer Asma Jahangir


Web Desk: Social activist and human rights activist Asma Jahangir passed away two years from us. Asma Jahangir was considered the voice of the oppressed, the innocent and the languageless.
Born in Lahore on January 27, 1952, Asma Jahangir earned a law degree from the University of Punjab and began his career with the Lahore High Court in 1980, the Supreme Court in 1982. After that you were elected the first woman president of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
Asma Jahangir made a special appearance as a social worker, lawyer and human rights educator. In December 1972, his father Malik Ghulam Jilani was detained under the martial law of the then military dictator Yahya Khan, whom Asma Jahangir filed a petition in the Lahore High Court seeking the release of his father and only at the age of 21. He won his case and released his father. He always supported the truth and his services for the consolidation of democracy are noteworthy. Under General Zia-ul-Haq's rule, he was jailed and detained by General Pervez Musharraf's government. Asma Jahangir played a significant role in the judicial rehabilitation movement besides human rights and several books, including research on important subjects such as the Hudud Ordinance. Asma Jahangir founded the Human Rights Commission and the Women's Action Forum. She was also awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1995 for her work on human rights, which is considered Asia's Nobel Prize. He is also honored with Martin Eniles, UNESCO Prize, French Legion of Honor, International Development Prize and the Millennium Peace Prize, and was nominated for a Peace Prize in 2005. He served on 2010 for democracy and human rights services in Pakistan. I was also awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz and the Star-eminence.
Asma Jahangir was widely viewed not only in Pakistan but also internationally. You left this world at the age of 66 on February 11, 2018 due to a visit to Noodle.
