No one believes Nawaz Sharif served jail for corruption: Bilawal

Lahore: Chairperson Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto has said that no one agrees that Nawaz Sharif has served jail because of corruption.

While addressing meet the press gathering in Lahore today, he said that political revenge is at its peak.

“We all know that Nawaz Sharif is in London because of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s revenge. This is the real reason PPP leaders have also served jails. We feel that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is a black law and it should be suspended immediately. The character assassination of Raja Pervaiz Ashraf is in front of everyone,” he said.

He added that NAB and economy cannot function together.

The chairperson further said that the blood of journalists is involved in the democratic struggle of Pakistan.

“Journalists have played a pertinent role in Pakistan’s democratic struggle. We will not accept such a Pakistan where there is no freedom of expression. We will try our best to be your voice,” he said.

Bilawal further said that the present government attacked the economy of media.

“The situation of media is alarming. There is downsizing in various media organizations. We need good journalists to sustain democracy. Benazir Bhutto stood firm in the face of such kind of dictatorship,” he said.

Bilawal further stated that real governments do not function on umpires.

“This government is snatching the democratic and economic rights of people. The PTI-IMF budget will be disastrous for the economy of Pakistan. The IMF should have given a time frame to people,” he said.
