PTI stalwart Naeemul laid to rest in Karachi
Karachi: Naeemul Haque, one of the founding member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was laid to rest in Karachi on Sunday.
Earlier, the funeral prayers were offered at Masjid Aisha, Khayaban-e-Ittehad in Karachi's DHA.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, numbers of federal and provincial ministers attended the funeral prayers while renowned religious scholar Tanveerul Haq Thanvi led the prayers.
The deceased special advisor to the prime minister and personal friend of Imran Khan, died on Saturday evening after a long battle with cancer.
The PTI leader had been fighting cancer since a long time.
Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed deep grief over the demise of his friend’s death.
In a message posted on twitter, the premier said that he was, "devastated by one of my oldest friend”. He added that the departed was one of the ten founding members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and "by far the most loyal." Imran Khan wrote that Naeem ul Haque stood by him through 23 years of PTI's trials and tribulations.
The premier ended the tweet by saying that Naeem ul Haque has left behind an irreplaceable void after a two year battle with cancer.
