PM congratulates Pakistan Kabbadi team on winning World Cup
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has congratulated Pakistan Kabbadi team on winning the World Cup.
Taking to twitter, PM wrote,
“Congratulations to the Pakistan Kabbadi team for winning the Kabbadi World Cup after defeating India.”
Yestreday, Pakistan defeated arch-rivals India 43-41 in the last match of the Kabaddi World Cup 2020 at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore.
The host team won the world cup for the first time after a neck-to-neck competition.
On Saturday, in the first semi-final, India beat Australia by 42-32 points while in the second semi-final, Pakistan defeated Iran by 52-30 at Punjab Stadium, Lahore.
This is the fifth time in the history of the World Cup that Pakistan have qualified for the final.
The 10-nation tournament was inaugurated on February 9 and matches of were played in three cities of Punjab – Lahore, Gujrat and Faisalabad.
Teams which participated in the event are Pakistan, India, Canada, the United States, Australia, England, Iran, Kenya, Sierra Leone and Azerbaijan.
