Ministry of Health withdraws notification to remove Pims Hospital executive director

ISLAMABAD: The battle for powers in the Ministry of Health has taken hold, the Ministry of Health has withdrawn the notification to remove the Executive Director of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital overnight.

The Ministry of Health last night dismissed the notification issued on August 9 regarding the appointment of Dr Amal Maqsood, executive director of Pims Hospital.

Dr Razwan Hameed Malik, who was removed from the post by the ministry, was appointed acting executive director of Pims Hospital. However, the ministry has once again suspended the notification issued last night regarding the appointment of Dr Rizwan Hameed Malik.

According to a new notification issued by the Ministry of Health, Dr. Element Maqsood will remain in the position of Executive Director.
