Majority of votes passed in National Assembly resolution condemning death sentence for child abuse offenders


Islamabad: The National Assembly has passed a majority resolution seeking death sentence for the perpetrators of child abuse,
According to details, in the National Assembly, the resolution of the death sentence for the perpetrators of child abuse was passed unanimously. The resolution was presented by Federal Minister Ali Muhammad Khan.
The People's Party opposed the death sentence for the perpetrators of child abuse. In the National Assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf said that Pakistan has signed the UN Charter, the world will not accept it.
Ali Mohammad Khan said that the prime minister wants the death penalty for the perpetrators of the abuse, the opposition was opposed when the committee demanded the death sentence for the accused of child abuse.
He said that the government wants to legislate the death penalty for the perpetrators of child abuse.
Earlier, the Zainab Alert Bill was unanimously approved in the National Assembly, which would allow 10 to 14 years for crimes against children.
Under the Act, an officer who does not take action against a child within two hours will be punished.
The bill's text states that a helpline of 109 would also be set up, and Zainab alerts for the abduction, murder and abuse of children under the age of 18.
An agency will be set up for the response and recovery.
