Bilawal Bhutto gears up efforts to topple PTI govt


Lahore: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has started efforts to pursued public for a movement to press Prime Minister Imran Khan to resign over economic crisis and sanctions on media.
In an informal talk with senior journalists in Lahore, the PPP chief said: “We will contact people through conventions and seminars” and vowed to continue the mission despite the government’s aggressive tactics.
He also slammed the PTI government for succumbing to the pressure of the International Monetary Funds (IMF) and accepting all the conditions.
“We also approached the IMF but had not accepted their all demands,” he said while recalling the PPP tenure.
He said that the PPP raised the salaries by 125 per cent during its term when it also fought against terrorism and two floods.
He expressed his wish to topple the government as soon as possible.
“Being acceptable to establishment is not necessary to me,” he said, adding that he wanted to be accepted by public.
“We had good ties with the PML-N and the current status is in front of all,” Bilawal said, adding that the leader of the opposition should take all the parties on board.
