7 dead, several injured in Quetta blast
Quetta: At least seven people were killed and 19 others injured in a blast near district courts on Adalat road in Quetta on Monday, GNN reported.
Security forces have cordoned off the area while rescue officials evacusted the injured to hospital for treatment.
Due to the intensity of the blast nearby buildings and vehicles parked near the site damaged badly. The nature of the blast is yet to be determined.
The blast occurred at a time when a rally was being held by a religious group near the Quettal Press Club.
Balochistan Governor Amanullah Yasinzai has condemned the incident and directed the officials to provide best possible treatment to the injured.
This is the third blast in less than two months in Balochistan’s capital.
On January 10, a suicide blast inside a mosque killed at least 15 people, including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Amanullah in Quetta.
Earlier, on Jan 7, a motorcycle bomb blast targeted a Frontier Corps vehicle on McConaghey Road in Quetta, killing two people and injuring 14.
